How do you hang 'YOUR' lights? Looking for ideas!!

My guess is that they are in a commercial building with reinforced concrete floors and ceilings. These are typically covered with sheetrock with a small gap....up to an inch. Hopefully they can get a toggle (molly) bolt to hold the fixture. I personnally would not drill into the concrete.

Well, I went to wal Mart and just got myself 2 garden hooks. Going to use those for now... I'm not sure if my house is considered a commercial building but it is two stories and has a solid concrete ceiling and floor with a large metal 'something' running across the ceiling, in every place we checked - it's ok, I'm done messing with it. I'll post pics of my garden hooks after I get them up

I used 1inch PVC. I drill holes so that the light mounts would poke inside the PVC and then ran pins through the mounts holes inside the PVS. Mounted the back brace to the stand

I don't have a pic on my phone but I went in the attic and attached a 2x4 across the rafters. Drilled holes in the ceiling just big enough for the metal wire. Ran the wire through the ceiling and anchored to the 2x4. The ati hanging kit allows me to raise and lower the light.

Awesome thread! I'm in the middle of my frag tank build and was thinking of different ways to mount the lighting. I'm probably going with bent metal like conduit but ridge tube instead so I know it can handle weight. Total weight of the light rack is about 20lbs.

This is what I have so far, due to my commercial grade ceiling :mad: garden hooks from Walmart and the cords that came with the LEDs. I need to grab some all black carabiner because the small metal showing bothers me. I used a towel rod (black aluminum 3.50 at home depot) and some velcro to connect the 2 fixtures together so they wouldn't twist or swing (in case I have wind in my house for some reason )

The wife didn't want the LED housing visible and didn't want cables hanging from the ceiling since the tank is in the living room. I also worried about light spillage and wanted to keep the rimless look so this is what met all the criteria for me: floating canopy mounted to the wall.

Hey, I'm just starting out my tank but here's what I came up with. I also bought a DME155. I tried finding a mount but didn't want anything with cables hanging. I found this mount for AV equipment and added some brackets to the DME so that I could mount it.
