How do you import reef fish into oz

Is it possible to import reef fish from Thailand or Indonesia to Australia. Are there any permits I need to get??

I don’t know the specifics, but I’m 100% certain specific licenses and strict regulations would apply. There are tons of endangered species and other restrictions etc. You should have a government department that oversees this sort of thing. I think a CITES permit is just one of the international requirements, on top of whatever national requirements exist.

legally, probably. illegally, no.

Well I can tell you that you definitely can't import legally from Thailand with any permits. Indonesia I actually have a friend who works collecting fish and corals and has a pretty impressive operation. He lives in Bali and collects some awesome stuff (he's CITES certified)... You probably would need to be certified as well though and the shipping cost would probably be crazy unless you ordered in bulk.
