Is it possible to keep a small QT tank that has bio-media running longterm when there are no fish inhabitants for periods of time?
What feeds the bacteria to keep the tank parameter stable for when you add that new purchase?

TIA

All you have to do is just ghost feed the tank every few days to feed the bacteria and keep a stable biofilter.

Drop a very small amount of whatever you feed your fish in. That's it!
