Moving on to the next color Blue/Purple. I combined these two colors because I believe, at least from what I've been able t find, they are based on the same factures. How do you do??

Following. I'm not having issues with the color of my Oregon tort, but I don't know why either lol.

Long ago I used Kent Lugol´s to get a deeper blue. Purples it is about water clarity. When you get undetectable NO3 and PO4 and it seems there is no water in the tank! LOL Water clarity also makes the blues lighter, so sometimes we need to look for a different placement if we want to keep a beautiful very deep blue. Anyway, nowadays there are specific products to tweak specific colours but of course, one has to consider, lighting, nutrient level and no parameter swings.

Need to look into my notes how I and with what I keep them more blue than other hobbyist.
I remember that I was running ZEO that time.

My corals grow very purple with lots of MH 250W light.

Not to disrespect anyone , but I have found my purples and blues have hardly anything to do with my nutrients . My nitrates are around 30 ppm and PO4 around 0.24

Still most of my blues and purples are small 1 inch - 2 inch frags but I have just maintained very stable ALK , and I do add lugol's everyday after my Triton tests read iodine extremely low .
Other than that , high metal halide of 2x250 watts radiums .

Abhishek

I believe it comes from picking the right Coral first. Some blues are bland others bright blue or dark blue.
Then comes from the right placement in the tank under the right lighting. Bioload has to be high enough to support nutrient additions, and regular scheduled water changes to add trace elements back into the system while reducing nutrients as well. Feed clean foods and good husbandry on the aquarium. Stable water pamarms like Cal, Alk, Mag, K.
All vital things relating to color. I wish I could say this one thing helps, but IME, their isent 1 things. It’s a list, and that list must be stable for long periods of time.
Another important thing I have learned is that nutrients must be low, but not too low. I test at 0 No3 and 0 Po4. I know it’s their, it just doesn’t show on test results. To much and corals are dark and dirty. To little and they are pale. Finding the sweet spot is the balancing act that I love. Pastels and slightly more is always my goal.

Actual color from lots of sub-400nm wavelengths... MH, T5 or the rare Panel with actual UV. These get used under 400 and spit back out in the low visible range and make purples and blues really pop. You can enhance/trick these with some blue LEDs, but without the true-UV they won't look as good as they could. I get all the purple and blue that I need with 14K Phoenix and 20K Radium bulbs with no actinic bulbs or blue LEDs to shine on them.

For blues the biggest thing is like Tripdad said Iodine. Salifert and Red Sea make test kits or send water sample to Triton for ICP testing.
