Live rock to me is crucial to a successful tank. Healthy live rock that is. I’ve kept some of my live rock with me for years that have went from tank-to-tank. However, live rock can crash too - just as corals. GHA, dinos, cyano... you name it. Do you have any keys to keeping live rock “live” and healthy? Would love to see your coralline encrusted rock.

reef dentistry.

the cabinet, a towel as padding. sit in air

clean, rasp, the rock teeth into detailing I want

leave the good sections don't scrape the coralline off. cause the clean ideal condition. set back. try and stave off needing that again as long as possible but don't abandon the process for a start over (meaning toss bad rock get new) ever. dentistry as default rock guiding mode +1

if lucky and don't need a dentist, then that's good reef genetics you've got there. coralline is the best bioexcluder and coral beacon so farm it however you can.

kalk in the top off water to keep everything stable and sometimes a toothbrush for scrubbing.

I use a water pic to blast detritus off and algae. I also have two decorator urchins which constantly whiten the rock again.

Biodiversity and a Turkey baster.
