How do you kill this sponge?

I know it’s not algae, but it seemed appropriate in this forum.

How can you kill off this sponge? It’s in a clients tank and I want to kill it off. It’s so invasive. No idea why someone previously put it in.

It’s a 58 oceanic tank.

That way

Excise it, surgically. Messing with that in tank is asking for issues. If it's hard to access/ large tankers problems lol prognosis still the same, cut it out like a benign growth and you won't lose nontargets. Arrange rock expecting growback/follow up gardening

Dont kill it in tank

Take the tank apart and clean it. You can siphon out your clean 90g of water to reuse, then refill from that same water column

Lift the rock out alternatively, but access it in the air, directly.
