With a sump and other "stuff" planned for inside my stand, I'm wondering what others use for lighting to see and work in there?

Get the led strips from Amazon. Very inexpensive and easy to install. Just don't rely on the adhesive on them.

Also, control them with a smart outlet and alexa. I tried mag switches and they don't work for long.

Check out my build for how I did mine.

EDIT: I am an LED nerd. So I even am adding them to light my 3D printer. HAHA!

Having spent the first 12 months of my tanks life using a torch, (which was rubbish! Lol) I advanced to low voltage LED strip lighting which is brilliant and inexpensive

@SPR1968 I had to look and see you were from England. For a nanosecond I was like "He's gonna burn down his tank!"

I am such an idiot!
LOL

Do you mean the low voltage bit, we are 240v over here (i think your 11o) ? So have to calm it down a little!

240v + water = ‘tingling’! Lol

You called it a torch. Fire on the end of a stick? Haha...
Oh I see what he means ! Lol

That’s quiet funny actually, picturing me with a ‘torch’ on my head under the tank I can see the concern ! Lol

A little more than a tingle if you ask me!

If you have a sump you can also put a glow light for cheato!

Going back to the tingle part, I have a grow light and one day I was cleaning my sump and I nocked my light off a hook that I hung it from and it fell into the sump. My first reflex was to pull it out as fast as I could and it was a BAD idea..... I got it out though. It was 120v couldn't imagine 240..cleaned the led light with alcohol and it still works

These from Walgreens work great and bright as i would ever need

I bought those cheap hockey puck LED type lights that you push to turn on or off from home depot and stuck them on the sides of the stand. I stuck them to the sides of the stand and not over the sump just in case the adhesive breaks free.

I do a simple tape LED light that has a remote control, can make any color or even shifting colors which is cool since I have glass doors, or I can do just white.

I also have my fuge light I can click on if I really need to see in there.

I used zip ties to hold in place on an aluminum strip I screwed to stand above.

I have a fuge light that does an ok job. But since I have an apex with the breakout box I plan to get a contact switch and brighter LEDs. Opening the doors will break the contact and turn on the LEDs.
