Just curious to see what people are using as lighting for their chalices? What gives you the best color? Growth? Etc.

Anyone try the new radions by vortech? I'm between those and T5s. I'm leaning towards T5s, but don't want to have to have everything near the bottom of the 20" tank.

I have the radions over a 180g at the shop. Great lights, but for my chalice and acan tank I run t-5s and the colors are amazing.

What are you running for a bulb line up? i was going to switch to LEDs but currently running T5's, LFS talked me into some coralife bulbs that i'm not happy with and i have a few chalices and a bunch of acans that i would like to get some more pop out of.

All bulbs are ATI except for the KZ bulb. They put out a lot more PAR than the coralife bulbs and colors are a lot better.

Blue Plus
Blue Plus
Aquablue Special
KZ Fuji Purple
Blue Plus
Blue Plus

All rainbow acans held color soo much better than when under LED. Chalices have a nice glow also.

So i have a 4 bulb over a 75 gal, i was thinking 2 aquablue special and 2 blue plus??

That would be fine, it just depends on how blue you want it to be. That should give you around a 14k look. If you wanted a 20k, you could run 1KZ F.P, 2 blue plus and 1 aquablue special. The fuji purple helps bring out shades of red.

i'm going to start another thread for t5 bulb combo shots, dont want to jack this thread....
