How do you light your stand??

I also used various LED flexible strips to light my stand, sump and even edge light around my Apex gear. They are controlled by my Apex which is handy. I used white to light both sides of the stand and then orange to light the sump and the edge lighting on the electronics side. I get all of my LED products from Oznium... super high quality stuff.

Seen your build, love it. I think I’m going to use led strips, for multiple things in the stand...won’t be using oznium, dollar per inch too rich for my blood.

I have motion switched to turn on a couple of under the cabinet LED lights. When the doors are open, lights come on.

Every time I see this I get shivers down my spine. Such a sexy setup!!

I bought a strip of those LED’s that come in like a string and hung them around the top edge.
Works well!

Geez oh Pete, I had Stunner LED strips laying around, didn’t even think about it, now my all white strip is hung. Thanks for the clue.

I went with this unit from Lowe’s. It fit inside the front lip of my stand with easy access to the switch.

I always wondered... Doesn't the bubbles in the skimmer, or sump water movement, make the lights turn on?
Not at all. I was worried about that too, but the motion sensor is usually triggered when I open the cabinet doors or wave my hand in the sump area.

Kudos to all that have posted! I'm finishing up a 120g build and this was one of those last nagging details I need to get done. Thanks to all for some great options!

I think that sometimes we have some conflict in distinguishing the purpose of this hobby. Without bothering to anyone, sometimes I look at those sumps and this comes to my mind:

You guys are awesome with all these replies! I think I’m going to go with led strips, the sump is currently out of stand so getting in there shouldn’t be difficult. Thinking maybe a staple gun? Don’t know if hot glue will stick well to humid wood?
