No hood in this case. Looking for advice and experiences, since I suck at DIY

In my particular case the ceiling is out of question so I'm hoping to use a wall mount of sorts. Which brand do you use? If it's from a hardware store what should I be looking for and what should I be avoiding? How do you connect it to the wall mounts? Is there a weight grade I should be looking for? Pictures and details would be awesome to see. Thanks in advanced.

Following. I want to do the same thing.

I made a light mount for my 50 gallon tank that was originally for a Radion.
I decided to go back to my ATI T5 fixture ( again) and used the same mount but had to add a couple extra pieces.
This is just a 2" x 3/8" aluminum flat bar bent in two places and painted.
Then bolted to my stand.
Radion mount.

T5 mount.

I've seen alot of TV wall mount systems used for leds.
I'm sure with a little thought some of those could be adapted to fit a T5 fixture.

There is also the infamous conduit hanger too.

Yeah that looks really nice. I just realized that I put my tank stand too close to the wall and I can't drill anything into the stand from the back though. Should've thought that through

I'm going to give this a try.with my new 48" aquaticlife. I think I'm going to use 3/4" rigid pipe instead for extra comfort

Could you please let us know the name of that mount, or the parts, and where to get them?
Did you have to modify anything from it's original shape, or make any holes?
Also, if you can, pictures of the bottom part of the mount, where we attach to the stand.
It actually looks great!
I think the only thing I would recommend is if you could bring the fixture down to at least 7" from the tank... Looks too high.
Anyone else with nice ideas like that for T5s? It's aways nice to see that kind of DIY.

Thank-you
All I used to make this mount ( T5) was a 8' x 2" x 3/8" aluminum bar. 2 each, 1" x 1/4" aluminum bar.

Originally this mount was made for a single Radion, but I adapted it for the ATI T5 fixture, which is 7" from the water.

I don't have pictures of how it is bolted to the stand, but it's just 2" lag bolts screwed into the stand near the floor and at the stand top.

So I ended up using a shelf mount from lowes. Not the best looking but functional and really cheap. Got a buddy to do the heavy lifting cause I can't do anything hardware related.

I bought 2 of these brackets, considered painting them black to match the tank stand but since the wall is also white I just went with it. Drilled into wall studs with 3 all purpose self drilling nails because I was lazy, worked fine and hasn't fallen off yet lol.

Bought 2 eye bolts, came with it's own nut that's on the bottom to secure it with a washer + nylock(?) on the top to secure it

Final product. Seems good so far, need to clean up the metal wires though. Thanks to everyone that gave me advice!
