How Do You Package an RO Unit to Move?

I have this RO unit.

I've hooked it up and ran 20-30 gallons through it, for the initial breakin. I have the career opportunity of a lifetime and will be moving 2,000 miles across the country.

How do I transport the RO unit?

I think I've read in the past that you can't let the RO membrane dry out, once it's had water introduced.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The big one is definately not to let the membrane dry out, I use a large ziplock bag and add extra RO water to the bag, not a whole lot, just enough to keep everything moist. I'm honestly not sure on the carbon and sediment blocks as I just replaced mine not long after moving. @Buckeye Hydro might have better insight into that.

Resin I would probably keep moist as well, once again I just replaced mine after moving but I don't see resin doing too well in a dry environment.

So maybe just unhook it, plug the lines while it's full of water, and box it up?

Just had a thought. I could use a push connector ball valve on each end. Turn the unit on and make sure it's fully wet. Then close both ball valves and disconnect it.

That sounds like it would work out well.

Actually would need 3 ball valves.

Inlet
Clean outlet
Waste outlet

They're cheap.

Thanks! Same career, just a new job title/promotion with a new company. It's a 35% pay increase and it's definitely cheaper to live there vs my current location.

Sometimes ya gotta quit a job and move on to get a promotion. In my career, I've found plenty of employers that tend to get lazy and will pigeon hole you into a position and never promote simply because THEY are comfortable with where you're at.

I'm the CEO of me. Gotta take care of me, because it's not anyone else's responsibility.

Or just toss all the filters and buy new when you get to your destination.

Its basically brand new. I don't like the idea of tossing all my filters in the trash.

Gonna make sure its wet, and use ball valves to close all 3 lines. It's the cheapest and easiest option so far. It anything gets ruined, I'll come back here and eat crow.

For how long?

I'm moving 2,000 miles. It's 5 days worth of driving a 27 foot u-haul truck, pulling a car trailer that has my wife's 2019 Honda Pilot on board.

Then a couple days of unloading and ... realistically..... a month before I can think about un boxing the RO unit and getting it hooked up again.
