How do you plant a mangrove?

I got a 12” mangrove with 3 or 4 roots. Do I just shove it in the sand, or get some kind of pot to put it in?

If you have really deep sand it's fine. Otherwise, put rocks over the roots or it'll get top heavy and fall over eventually.

Thanks! Does it need to be out of the water or can it all be submerged?

They do best if the tip is out of the water. They typically will try to grow leaves in the open air. Otherwise, submerged is fine for the rest.

I think they can even grow leaves under water but I've never tried it.

I actually did a quick video on how I set mine up in my aquarium tying them with planters tap to PVC wood above the aquarium. I did a quick video of how I did it as well.
