Me too! I took a course in Latin once. Probably the only course that interested me in all my studies. I also teach IPA... but I hate it. I always need to brush up on it.

amen-ity)Funny because I introduced my friend to cichlids a long time ago as I used to keep. I told him “sick-lids” and he still calls the “chick-lids”Own a pet store as I did and you’ll hear it all!! The three that jumps at me from memory are:
Cichlids (sick-lids). Customers always said: (chill-ids)
Gourami (gore-a-mee). Customers: (gum-ora)
Anemone (a-nem-money) customersamen-ity)
Both pronunciations are different. The first one is how I’ve always heard it.And how about Acropora
Am I that long lost friend ? Hahha I say Chick-Lids! Always have, Ive been corrected a million times too but it never sticks in my long term memory lol.Funny because I introduced my friend to cichlids a long time ago as I used to keep. I told him “sick-lids” and he still calls the “chick-lids”

You call them whatever you want. As long as people know what you’re talking about. ;Hilarious If you wanna call spaghetti “busketti”, go for it.Am I that long lost friend ? Hahha I say Chick-Lids! Always have, Ive been corrected a million times too but it never sticks in my long term memory lol.
Not reef related but I want to know how to actually pronounce Porsche lol. It’s always bothered me. I don’t say the uh part at the end, sounds fruity. You call them whatever you want. As long as people know what you’re talking about. ;Hilarious If you wanna call spaghetti “busketti”, go for it.
Lol. I say “porsh” but when people wanna be snooty, they say porsh-uh. It feels unnatural to me. But I know it’s a German word. But, ehNot reef related but I want to know how to actually pronounce Porsche lol. It’s always bothered me. I don’t say the uh part at the end, sounds fruity.
