I'm moving into a place that has nice hardwood flooring. I'm curious what people have done to protect against incidental spills and splashes. Not so much a tank failure but day to day stuff. I thought about a rug but if I spilled any more than a very small amount it would just make things worse not being able to move the rug. I guess forgo the rug and just be careful and clean up any spills immediately?

I have a dryer pan that my stand sits in

I also built the stand wider than necessary and keep a towel/paper towels on hand any time I do tank work.

We have really nice hardwood floors and don’t want them covered up.

If I’m working in the sump or doing a wc, or a thing that may get messy, I lay towels around the tank.

The least amount of any tank maintenance is wiping the floor when I’m done with a towel
