I have a Seneye, which I will be using to measure PAR from my Radion. When it’s time to purchase a coral, is there a reference that I can use to figure out which corals I can keep based on my PAR readings around my tank? Is it trial and error? I know to keep an eye on the coral and see how it responds, and I plan to acclimate them to the light.

I want to be very intentional with this build after it’s nitrogen cycle is complete. I don’t want to make impulse purchases; I plan on a plate, a lobo, a torch, a frogspawn, a scoly, an acan, some GSP (isolated on a very small rock on the sand bed), and a few rics. This is going to be my LPS-dominant tank, and I just want to make sure that I know how to choose the locations for them based on PAR readings.

I think Tidal Gardens does a great job of telling you exactly what the coral needs.

I have been there one time, a couple of years ago, and he was great. I’ll definitely be making a trip back there!
