How do you quarentine Frags ?

So we have the CSTARS Fragtoberfest coming up in October and I am planning on attending. Since this is my first real purchases of coral at a show, I was wondering if you quarantine the frags you purchase?

If you quarantine, I was wondering what you need and how long. Do you dip them in something like coral RX ?

I have a few tanks I can use (2.5g, 5g and 10g), HOB filters, Light and ATO. I am thinking a 2.5 may be enough. I will probably only get a few frags for my display tank (I'm poor these days) so I shouldn't need much room.

I have a full invert/coral QT tank that I keep cycled and ready for anything wet going into the tank.

What do you need rock or to cycle it for coral ?

I keep a frag tank cycled and ready at all times. It is a 30g frag tank with a 75 gallon sump to grow macro out in, so it is fine for me to keep it up all the time. For dips, I do Melafix Pond for the first dip, then bayer 3 days later, melafix again 3 days after that, and then another bayer dip, 3 days after that. Frags sit on new plugs in the qt for 76 days and then will go into the display if all is well.

If you are not qt'ing a lot of stuff, I have kept frags in a 2.5 with a small HOB and a kessil a80 for 76 days. My WD and HW frags were QT'd in a 2.5 lol. Easy to manage in it.

What do you need rock or to cycle it for coral ?

It looks like JBK uses bio blocks like marine pure or similar under the racks.

Mine has rock in the sump that the macros grow on.

To start cycle I used BioSpira, then occasionally dumped some of my skimmer cup into it to build the bacteria population.

I ghost feed it small amounts, there is marine pure blocks in there to house the bacteria.

Just use light difuser as frag racks and a small powerhead and HOB filter.
