I’m going to be ordering this RODI unit from Amazon and I have a few questions:

1) Is this unit operated by plug in electricity or can it run on batteries?

2) Does it have to be mounted vertically or can I have it lying on the ground on its side?

3) Can you leave it outdoors even during wet weather conditions?

1. Runs off water pressure
2. Refer to the manufacturer instructions
3. It won't be damaged by wet weather but I would not store in direct sunlight

Rodi runs off of water pressure. Are you dead set in this unit? There are what I would consider better units for reef tanks. You could check the marketplace on r2r as well
Does the unit need to be mounted vertically or can it lay flat on the ground because I will connect it to a backyard garden hose.

I use this ro buddie with excellent results. It’s super small so great for apartment use where you can’t permanently mount it.

Right on! I was just unfamiliar with it. I suppose you can provide better info on it for op

Many helpful hints on you tube. While RO buddie will work, I recommend the extra $50 for a brs unit where you can see the cartridges through a clear housing, have more water delivery in gallons per hours and have access to many media at low cost

**Re:1. and 3 .- if your water pressure is too low and you need a booster pump, that will need to be plugged in and should not be left out in wet weather.
