The smell, yeah. I’ve got about 30 filter socks (7inch, large ones) that I change out 2 at a time. I let them build up and then take them outside, hose as much gunk off as I can and then put them in the washing machine for 2 cycles.

I’m looking for the best way to store large amounts of dirty ones for space reasons as well as keeping the smell down to a minimum.

What container do you use and how do you control the smell?

I just put them in a dry bucket in my garage until ready to wash

I wash them in the washing machine on a 2 hour low temperature cycle and they come out very clean. No need to hose them before. Sometimes I do 2 cycles if my wife doesn't need the machine

Normally I like to pull them rinse them out
and Just toss them in a bucket in the garage untill its time to wash them.
I dont seem to have much smell?

If your needing to control smell you can always seal them up in a trashbag or orthe large container.

You don’t try to empty it out first? Just throw it in the wash? I only have one sock and rinse it clean twice a week. But I’m thinking of getting a few more and rotating them.

Water change bucket with a lid. I flip them inside out while they are still wet, hard to do when they dry.

I let them dry out and then just throw them in a bucket. My drying process is hanging them on the side of a bucket for a day or so. Once they're dry, I've never really noticed much of a smell. The key is getting them dry in short order.

I turn them inside out and but in a bucket with water and 25% bleach. I put the lid on mostly to push them down into the water bleach as I get more in the bucket and keep the bleach from dissipating. Then I use my waste water from my RO/DI to wash them out. They are not spotless this way but the washing machine is much harder on the plastic rings.
