Hey reefers,

I current have space in my sump tank and was interested in hearing what you guys use your sump for. It definitely has to be something beneficial to my tank like macro algae or those bio rocks I forgot what they are called exactly. I used cheato and love it but was interested in trying something else. Help and opinions will be appreciated. Thanks everyone! [emoji2]

I use mine as a refugium with cholerpa and have some marine pure in it as well and a brs media reactor with carbon... im thinking about putting my skimmer in the chamber with the cholerpa in it and getting another reactor for GFO not sure how im gonna implement the algae, maybe through another reactor but we will see lol

Well. Plenty of options. Mini frag system, larger fuge, fuge + reactors or larger skummer . List goes on. You have to know what your reef needs or what your reef is lacking. Is your reef stocked heavy? Could it use a bigger skimmer? Just start asking yourself questions this is how i do it.

I have a skimmer , gfo and carbon reactor. I was thinking more of the macro algae and which are the most beneficial? Maybe Make a pretty display of macro algae? And how are the marine pure blocks?

You definitely can make it like a display refugium type thing with decorative macro algae but they don't grow as quick or take as many nutrients from th water as chaeto does... cholerpa is certainly a weed when it comes to growth however it can go sexual and cause a tank crash chaeto is one of the safest and best algaes , and its better wo have it tumbling so all sides get light, you could throw pods in there to start a culture..

Yea I've always had cheato filled to the rim I just wanted to try something else. How is Dragon breath? Or the red macro algae?
