I'm showing my wife how I do it. Admittedly, I'm not a pro and she's not getting the hang of it. I'd love to hear how y'all do this. Maybe see your videos on how this is done.

You really don't vacuum your sand.
The sand has various beneficial critters like many bacteria that would like be not disturbed.
So now and then you can move the sand in small area's or get a bottom dweller like a goby or snails that move the upper surface of your sand but that's it basically.

I don't vacuum my sand bed. Get a few sand sifting starfish and a diamond goby and the sand will stay looking pearly white. Every once in a while I stir up the top when I push sand back into areas that it's blown out of or when I'm cleaning the glass but otherwise I don't touch it.

I use a turkey baster and blast the sand, otherwise I suck up the finer sand during the water change. I try to do this every water change and may even try to do an area every few days to keep it from gathering in certain spots

I have issues vacuuming sifting siphoning my sand bed. Been trying different ways.

I bought a bullet goby, snails and a conch. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship we have [emoji41]
