Silence your overflow if not with a sock? I'd like to try going without one but it's so dang loud if I do.

It's a loud sucking sound or loud in your sump from water crashing but as @Shaddow_wolf169 said we need pictures from your overflow and down to your sump.

Sorry guys....loud in the sump, which at the moment the sock muffles the noise. Overflow box is quiet.

My overflow pipes goes below the sumps water line.
Could that be a fix for your noise level?

I ran it for years with out any socks and let the skimmer pull the funk.
If your socks are always clogging and need to be washed in a washing machine. Then I use the Red Sea 225 mesh sock and just rinse it out in the sink or garden hose and they last at least six months.

Nope mines below the water too. Socks aren't clogging as I switch em out every 4th day.
I'll have to look up the sock you're referring to. Thanks.

Socks has nothing to do with the noise. Post a pic of how its coming down into the sump. you can do silent both ways. I have done both, so I'm happy to help.
