Title says it all. Was looking at my tank today and noticed there was a tiny new Yuma in my tank. I never noticed any kind of splitting, and the baby just kinda appeared. Honestly just curious.

Indeed. There are some that frag them into two, they will also do the same. Essentially, they split off from the parent at the mouth, if I recall. Mushrooms leave a little foot of theirs behind but the Yuma and ricordea variety, just split.

They can often leave part of their foot behind as they love up and that small bit of flesh can become a new polyp. Ricordea yuma don’t actually split into two as often as you’d expect, Ricordea florida however splits more than it does the foot method.

Well here is a picture of my Yuma in action. Absolutely thrilled to see some babies.
