How do Zoa's grow?

Pretty much the title, I'm not concerned about how long but more so how to spot growth. Does a new head just a appear over night? Is it always connected to the main bunch (some of mine appear to have satellite polyps not connected to the main frag), does it happen in a day, do they start small and grow to full size?

Any other info appreciated!

They bud, they send off small polyps which eventually grow to full size, it takes many weeks for the polyps to grow to full size, they start off about the same size as a large grain of sand, usually connected by some sort of strand/connective tissue

Ahh fun, so the tiny heads I have will continue to grow. Very cool!
