i feel this is a very gray area when a seller puts the stipulation of not responsible for shipping delays. I get it, it's not your fault seller. But how's it my fault as the buyer who paid you my hard earned money for a couple branches you probably cut off a colony that cost you nothing. I don't know. I'm hoping to soon frag and sell some pieces in the near future but I just don't feel the buyer should be at a total loss due to this unfortunate circumstance. At least split it or something... sorry just venting.. feedback is welcome tho

Sorry for your unfortunate experience. Just so you know, we offer full refunds or replacements(if possible) or sometimes credit, depending on the customers preference, to our customers that experience courier issues. :)

This is why I always buy frags and fish in person. Then it's my own fault if they die. Only things I really feel safe shipping is CUC critters. Even then it seems like I only get half of the items alive on arrival. I've purchased a few frags online and they showed up way smaller then I imagined for the price and no color. I'm also in Minnesota so its tricky ordering anything online with it being so cold here.

When I sell esp during winter months I always make sure the buyer knows that I keep an eye on weather and try to plan ahead to prevent this from happening. If for some reason something does happen I offer a replacement and cover half the shipping on the replacement.

I was just curious. I haven't been burned but it seems like everyone has that clause in their for sale thread and I just feel it's somewhat unfair that one loses all and the other nothing. It should be a mutual loss worst case but the right thing I feel especially if it's just frags is make them another one and ask for shipping charges. Just my .02

I call the shipping company a bunch of times and tell them I have live animals in there and let them know the amount of stress it is causing me with the delay. It doesn't do anything, but I feel better and it makes the day I took off from work go more quickly.

I'm sure this is an old thread, but I think typically most packages should be insured. It would then be the buyers responsibility to file the claim with the shipping company for damages. I'm being fairly speculative on this btw.

A lot of places put that clause in there as they must to cover them. But I would say that most companies would work something out in the event something did happen . That would be their reputation on the line.

I had an order, 2 fish, that was delayed for two days. One fish survived, one didn't. Pacific Island Aquatics is being stand-up about it, and sending me a replacement fish for the one I lost. Besides that, you could tell the surviving fish was well-conditioned to aquarium life before shipping. I will definitely buy from him again.

I generally just pace a whole in the floor while chewing my fingernails to the bone!!! Haha!
