How does golden pavona grow?

I have a frag of golden pavona that is starting to grow and I'm trying to decide on placement. Unfortunately all the pictures I can find online are of frags. How does this thing grow? Encrusting? Thick branches? Based on how the frag looks I'm guessing it doesn't do vertical plates like pavona cactus, which is a pity because that would be cool.

I believe they are encrusting but I have a small one that's exhibiting unusual growth and seems to be doing all three at once.. encrusting, plating and branching the frag I purchased was just a encrusted piece on small rock, it's grown upward with ears growing off main structure and is also incrusting onto rock work around base..
