my alc and calcium dropped this week alk went down to 7.4 and calcium was down to 330-340.

here are my target numbers
salinity: 1.026
alk: 10
ca: 440
ph: 8.4
no3: 3.5
temp:77-79 (topless tank and its summer so it varies from day to day)
i use ro/di water for top off sometimes even as much as 1 qt a day but normally only .5 qt daily.
i do weekly watter changes mixing with reef crystals, about +/- 25%
im thinking if my alk and ca continues to drop like this then i may have to dose. ill read more about dosing in the forums let me know if you think its necessary.

i have 3 acro, one monti cap, a Cyphastrea and a frammer that is growing new heads every week and a half! the frammer is the cause for the drop in alk and calcium.

im just worried about my anemone and want some input on the looks of it
\the hair algae is a constant issue on this rock only! ive heard of lr leaching phosphates and nitrates (hot rocks) and i think this is the issue in my case. i have a refugium in the sump so this must be the case of a "hot rock"

no, never have i seen that other then through the forums i have read. though a couple weeks ago he had a puffy mouth, but closed shut.

also how do i get the more natural color in my photographs? my photos are always so dull and blah.

this is the anemone when i picked him up from the lfs sand bed, he was actually floating to the mp40 wavemaker and i had to take him home would have been horrible for him to turn into a smoothly
p.s the week before this picture my anemone was actually hanging out on my blue leg hermit, the hermit evicted him and "scraped" him off of his shell. though i have a feeling these creatures can communicate. when the anemone fell off of the rock the hermit came back like clock work (beelined straight to the anemone, within 30 seconds and rolled over to allow the anemone onto his shell and moved him to the other side of the tank where you see him now. for the next 2 days the hermit followed the bta and yes he did follow it where ever the little bta moved.

thanks for the comments. i was really amazed watching my creatures do their thing. they are definitely contributing members of this tank community. the hermit still hangs out near the nem sometimes the hermit hides under the nem as if he is hosting it. feel free to give a name suggestion for the duo.

the anemone is looking more normal now, but i think the drop in alk caused him to start bleaching in the tips. i used my micro 105 lens free hand, i used the in camera color balance pretty much it is like editing with +10 vibrants and -8 on whites. the colors are more correct but only alittle. i hate using photo edit on windows and never plan to. ill go to the local camera shop tomorrow if i have time and ask about the gel filters. thanks again for the suggestion
