How doomed are these zoas?

The Montipora “Mystic Sunset” is getting out of control and has spread to an adjacent rock covered in zoas (I should have spaced them out more earlier on). How much trouble are these zoas in?

I haven’t had those exact species go to war, but in my experience, the Monte will eventually overgrow the Zoa.
 
Trim it back
All that excess in the sandbed can be trimmed off and as it spreads towards zoa as you can trim back new growth. Ideally the zoa rock should be detached and moved or you will have constant maintenance needs

It’s really nice looking monti btw. I like it a lot especially seeing that whole rock covered in it. Makes me highly regret my tonga branch covered in gsp.
