I just added a second MP10 to my 18 gallon sps reef, but it does not have the wireless capability. My other does and I am considering letting loose $45 for the RF board upgrade, but wonder if I really need it.
They currently both run in Reef Crest mode so I am getting more or less random interactions between them which seems to be getting rid of some dead spots I had with only one pump, even though it gave great average flow in the small tank.
Do the Nutrient Transport Mode and Tidal Swell Mode really work that well? Or would there be a big advantage to synching or anti-synching the two pumps, thereby losing the random interaction I now have?
Hopefully this won't be just a troll thread to hear how great Vortechs are ... I'd rather not spend $45 just to end up being able to put them both into feed mode by pushing one button instead of two. And I won't even go into the absurdity of having to connect two controllers wirelessly that are mounted literally one inch apart.
