How expensive its buying corals/fish where you live???

i've been wondering if only where i live (Costa Rica) its so expensive to buy corals/fish/inverts!

let me explain.

in USA a small cleaner shrimp its $20.. in Costa Rica i have to pay $45

fire Shrimp $30. in Costa Rica $50-$55

Ocellaris $15 in USA.. in costa rica $30.


let me hear some prices in other countries.!

I live in north texas and the prices you posted are about right for my area: cleaner shrimp $20, Fire Shrimp $30, Clown $15. Except you can get 20% off of the clowns if you buy a pair at some stores around here.

Ya it's crazy how some stores out here are competitive with pricing and the others are stubborn and charge premium. The places with no forum presence or have an online store are usually the latter.

I live in the Palm Springs, CA area and there are only three stores. They usually charge 40% or more) than areas like Orange County or LosAngeles County. Something like a Blue Throat Trigger here will be $75+ and I can get them for $30-40 less than two hours away. Luckily I am out that way a lot, so the drive time and gas don't really factor into the equation.
