How long does it take to make it from your display tank to your sump? Some of us have our sumps in our stands...others have to burn carbs to make it to theirs, I'm one of the people who has their sump in the basement and the display in the front of the house.
The path goes from nearly the front door, the ought the living room, a hallway, past the bathroom, a kitchen, through the laundry room, down the steps and the exact distance back
Through the basement plus 5 more feet. If I am not holding my cup of coffee it takes me about 39 seconds at a high speed walk, if i snuck my shoes on before starting. With my coffee it takes about 1 minute 38 seconds. I know this because when I set up my reefkeeper i wanted to know how much time I had to do certain tasks and found this interesting.
My sump is only about 13 feet from the tank too, which is the stupid part. My water station is about 40 feet away, and plumbed to flush in the sump, which is about 20'seconds from my tank and reefkeeper head unit, but if I were to run another pc4 to the water station would require 70ft of wire.
You don't really thing about the different distances to the same things depending on your paths until you're caught trying to pull a 3 foot rope across a 7 foot gap.
