I guess it would depend on the status of the natural ocean environment or the condition of the tank. I would doubt our tanks could rival growth in the ocean if conditions were ideal.

I'm not sure. What I have noticed is this, at least in my tank. Frags that have come from MH lit tank: 1) high nutrients, poor color in parent tank - stall out and go dormant- except for SSC and ORA birdsnest. I have frags from December- January from a particular tank, and they win sleeping beauty awards for being dormant forever. 2) MH lit tank with good husbandry - tank a few weeks to color up in my tank and then grow well.Why do you think that is?
