I recently got this monti and I thought they grew super fast.

It's on its third week and looks exactly the same. The chalice and two birdsnest corals have all grown in that time. Are they slow growers? How long should it take to sprout red feeders. Sorry for pic quality. I can't photograph it with the blues on. It's got a little flourescent green and some red dimples but that's it. Am I being unrealistic?

Never had that one, but my Montis have always been unhappy when alk is low. 3.0+ meq/L is a good target for keeping them perpetually happy.

Just $0.02 :)

Ziggy said it. Some corals take a while to settle in depending on how recently they were fragged, to condition of the frag, and your water/flow/lighting. Settling-in time can be anywhere from hours to months. Once it adjusts and settles to what I would call a, "happy" state, it will start to grow and color up well (again, dependant on water, lighting, and flow). Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I have it on its own rock close to the bottom of the tank so I'm going to just leave it alone and see what happens.

Is it the lighting in the pic? That Jedi doesn't look happy at all. At least to me. When I got mine from a LFS, it was a beautiful, vivid, neon green with a purple growth rim and red polyps. In less than a year it has gone from a frag to completely covering a rock.

Part of it is the lighting. I can't get a good pic under the blue lights. It looks a lot better under the blues but still is not the bright green and red I see in pictures. It is brand new to my tank (3 weeks).
