How hard are montes to grow?

They are my favorite too. But I am having a hard time keeping them alive and colorful. In the first month or so they look very nice. After that they start to turn white. I have T5 and led hybrid lighting. Seems like everybody’s are growing like weeds. What are your water parameters maybe I’m doing something wrong about that?

If there turning white they probably need more light.
5 Kessils blasting em with light for 13 to 14 hours, alk 7 to 8.5, calc 425, mag 1350, salinity. 1.024-25, temp 79 to 80, lots of rock in tank have many fish, vertex skimmer in sump, also 2 wave pumps and 2 regular pumps creating lots of water movement, plus the 2 return line pumps.

They definitely will, I gave some red and green caps to a friends for his nano but I told him they would probably start to get pale cuz his lights weren't strong enough, fast forward 2 months and they are pale and probably gonna die, he saw pics of my acros and stuff and wanted some frags, I told him no way they will definetly die plus they are not gonna be free like the caps. The pulsing Xenia I gave him is taking off in his nano so he seems happy with that.

Try to find out what type of monti it is. Different species require different lighting intensities IME. For example, montipora hodgesoni loved to get blasted with light while montipora undata preferred the very bottom of the tank.
