How hard to swap sumps/refugiums?

Hello all,
I recently purchased a used 55 gal tank setup that came with a 10 gallon sump. The sump does not have the layout which I like and the 20 gal refugium sump I'm eyeballing is rather pricey. I'm wondering if in the mean time i could set my tank up with the provided sump to get the cycle started and swap out the sump for the refugium setup in a few months? how much trouble will it cause my newly-cycled tank? (as a side note, I don't plan on having any coral until after the swap has been performed. I plan to only cycle the tank with a dead sand bed, some live rock to seed my dry rock, then introduce one or two fish and possibly some clean up crew.)

Your safe doing that. Problem will be getting sump into stand. Alot of sumps get put in before placing tank in order to make them fit. But it will work out. I made my own sump just for this reason.

Wouldn't be hard at all, I've done it with no issues.

Thanks for the info! I don't think I'll have a problem with getting sump in the stand, as the previous owner cut a section of the stand out and added hinges to add his sump Will not having a refugium from the start have any negative effects on my tank as it's being cycled? Will it cause algae problems in my display? I'm still learning...

Maybe a tiny bit in getting your nitrates down but you can just change more water at that point to overcome it.
