How has dosing 2 part changed your reef?

thinking about starting dosing 2 part to my LPS,softie,gorg tank.
just wondering how has it changed your tank? worth it on such a tank?

lets talk 2 part here the pros and cons...

Corals look happier my torch is no longer receding and have a big increase in coraline. The rocks looks more mature mow also

yeah I dont mind mixing and adding it to the tank I think that is kinda fun. prb. will not get a doser ...we will see after a few months tho.
my rocks are very mature as I started with TBS aqua farmed LR so tons of life.

any one else care to chime in?

I love using 2 part. Once I determined my tank's uptake rates, it was nice being able to automate the process with dosers. My corals all seem to be doing well (softies, LPS and SPS). I test my parameters monthly now and they're right where they ought to be.

that sounds like a plan! just makes since to do it. I dont think my tank needs much but I could be surprised. also gonna start 2 part on my macro tank as well.

Alk & Ca levels more stable once I got the dosers dialed in to my tank's consumption rate. Monti, hammer, frogspawn, acans all responded well. More than anything, it makes you pay closer attention to those levels. If you don't measure, don't dose.

Have you tested your water to see if you even need to dose? I have had tanks in the past where I had no need to dose, water changes where enough. My currant tank i have to dose

I'll save you a bunch of time and aggravation.... get yourself the Hanna dkh alk checker for $50 and forget trying to measure alk with the regular test kits that rely on u to judge color. The Hanna alk checker is used by many and is very simple to use. Definitely worth the money. As you've heard don't dose if you don't test
