How high above water line are your MH??

I have a 24" deep tank and my 250W are about 11" off the top of the water.

I have my lumenarc with 250w radium 16 inches from the water surface and the bulb is at 17 inches. The tank is 10 inches deep and grows sps at the bottom. Google search cebu sun and look at all the images to give you a better idea. I think you should start higher and lower as needed based on coral appearance and light spread.

Ok thanks. Will the lumenarc reflect better than the Cebu sun? Could I also play with the photo period times? This tank will be SPS dominant but I do want a mix. I am planning some high ledges and lower as well. Will be my first time running MH. I am in hopes I wont need a chiller. I keep the house around 70 year round.

I cannot remember my reflector name, but had to make higher due to its capability. I have not looked into reflectors for so long, I am not familiar with the CebuSun. Sorry, no help there. You can always try and move up as needed. Also, you can use screens to adapt any corals to higher light. If you are keeping lower light stuff, could provide shade with rockwork and such.

I think its a nice reflector because you also have some t5s with this lighting setup. These other reflectors dont have supplemental lights but you wont need any extra lighting with the radiums if you choose so. They dont make lumenarcs anymore, I would look at cabo sun, cayman sun, cozumel sun and lumembrights single ended.
6-8 hours mh only will be fine. If you are running t5 or led in addition maybe 4 hours mh 8-10 hours t5s. JMO

Ok thanks so much. I have the Cebu sun 6' fixture now with 20K radium single end, and the Hamilton blue bulbs. I am thinking of replacing them with something else before starting the tank. Was thinking maybe a couple actinic or purple plus, and a couple blue plus. The tank is 7' but I am thinking I will get plenty coverage with this light.

MH and T5s spread nicely and 6' light over 7' should be fine. Allows you to have more options of coral light types.

I run 400 watt reefbrite's on 16 inch of water 12 inches over the top of the tank. Tanks are 8 feet long using a light rail to move them back and fort.
