How High are your Lumenbrite reflectors

Hi folks, I know this sounds like a newbie question but I'm just asking for reference. Just wondering how high above your tank water do you have your reflectors. I'm running 400 watt bulbs, 10K in small Lumenbrite reflectors. They are 15" above water line. I've seen them as low as 8" with no issues. Just looking for opinions.

I hve 3x250 around 15" from the water....

(3) 250w radiums in LumenMax reflectors @ 10.5" above waterline.
