hey guys, ive tried searching for this answer but nothing really answers my question in my situation.

im slowing building my 20gal long tank set up (30" wide, 12" tall, 12" deep). right now it is cycling (just started a few days ago). i picked up an evergrow D120 off ebay and plan to suspend it over my tank. it has the 90 degree optics. in the beginning the tank will be fish/live rock only and then later, if all goes well, corals later. my question is this:

how high should i suspend this over my tank so that i will get adequate coverage for coral growth?

thanks for any help!

8-12" should be the number, but you being there would be the final judge of distance for coverage.

How I hung my D120 for my ten gallon. Rail shelving.
