So I did a dumb thing.
In The process of breaking down and moving a tank I just purchased:

I threw a lot of live rock, a few bio blocks in a 55gal tank just to keep them wet. The rocks had a lot of palys/zoas on them (as well as bubble algae, aptasia and gha) there was also some small birds nest and monti left on the rocks as well.

it was late and I needed to get going home and I threw a power head and a heater in the tank. (Heater I purchased with the tank) I was tired and assumed it was ok. Well heater failed in the one position. When I arrived the next morning it was 108 degrees! Smelled like a lobster cook out. I immediately took everything out and put it in new water. Any and all hard corals are toast. All bubble algae and aptasia appear to be dead as well. But there are still a decent amount of palys hanging on.

not sure what to do at this point. I’m sure I cooked all the benificial bacteria off the rocks and bio blocks. Not sure if I should just let it all dry out and then maybe bleach or Muratic acid and start over or if it’s worth trying to salvage any of this. If it was for the palys I would probally call it quits and go for a bleach/acid wash.
What’s your thoughts? Keep it cycling, or nuke it? And what about all the palys?

I'm all for birthing stability (and robustness) from chaos. Imo keep going with the cycling. Might as well let all that death fuel whatever is left. If you are worried about the beneficial bacteria gone, you can just keep measuring parameters to see if things are progressing.

Ok. And there is no fish or inverts. Just the palys. I changed 100% water yesterday. And put 4 c t5 above just in case anything still hanging on. But only running a power head. Lots of debris in the water. I think I’ll try a filter sock over a maxi jet and see if I can catch some of the debris.
Thanks man.
