Hello R2R ,
I thought i would share my experience with you all , I have 2 clown fish ( called starsky and hutch ) they were tank raised and had never seen an anamone . shortly after I'd got them I bought my anamone , an heteractis magnifica .
I was new too the hobby and a little surprised too find that after about 4 weeks my clown fish still not going anywhere near my anamone ! So I did some research and learned that I must introduce them too the anamone in a small container , well they were in my tank and after hours of trying too catch my two clown fish too put them in a container.......I gave up .
Soon after i was telling a friend and also a reef tank hobbyist about my problem ..he laughed then said I should put photos of clown fish in anamones on the back of the tank .. that always works for him ..
Well I tried this ... and within 2 weeks my clown fish had bonded with my anamone
I swear in those two weeks I could see my clown fish studying the photos .. it was amazing to watch as they slowly built up their relationship .. so if you are also trying too get an anamone too host clowns and you don't want too stress your fish out trying too catch them , then just put up a photo I've posted a photo below of mine
Success all !!!!!
