I have a Apex controller hooked up which makes life a LOT easier for me. I also have 2 web cam viewing the tank. One focused on the skimmer to check the cup level and the other viewing the outside of the tank. I use a D-Link app to connect and view at any time.... peace of mind for some things.

Nice!;)
Going to be looking to do something like for this my tank since I now have a APEX Controller.

Peace of mind is right! I love being able to access my parameters via Apex at any time and watch my tank through my webcam. I used an old Samsung phone and can view my tank all day long if I wanted, which I often do while at work. ;)

I love that your sump cam is on your skimmer :) I can watch my skimmer in action for hours, it's mesmerizing! :p

Where do you get this app and what type of Webcam you use
The app is called D-Link++Viewer. I downloaded it from the App Store for my Mac. Camera in the sump is a D-Link DCS 930-LB1 and the display tank cam is a D-Link DCS 5020L (this one has night and day mode).

I can get a good idea of when to empty it.. :).. or if it's overflowing for some reason I can turn it of via Apex Fusion.

I have my Skimmer cup overflow attached to a Slimline 2 liter beverage container via silicone 3/8" hose. I installed a float switch through the cap wired to my Apex breakout box. When the Slimline gets full, about once a week, it shuts down the Skimmer and I get both audible and text alarms from Fusion. Automation is everything to me.
