I am gonna throw this Read Sea K tester into a fire then throw the fire into the sun! (Sorry watching Fururama) I absolutely hate this test. The iron and the iodine are ok and I actually can get good readings on them. But potassium sucks!!! Is it super important to test if I do weekly water changes? Hanna where you at on this???

In my opinion, not at all important, especially if you are doing regular water changes. If you already have a stellar tank with no problems and huge acros growing great with great color, and are trying to squeeze an extra 1% out of your tank then maybe consider it, but for most people, don’t bother.

Salifert Potassium test is super simple. I test K weekly, just because I notice slight color loss on my acros under 360ish ppm and Montipora and Birdsnest really start to suffer at under 340. I try and keep my k at 400- 410

Roger that thanks guys. Salifert here I come. I just wasted money on this Red Sea trace test I guess. The Iodine and Iron are super simple but time consuming. Since I change 6-7 gallons on a 45 gallon weekly I guess I don’t need this test but I spent the money so better use.
