I recently moved and had my whole reef crammed in a 15 gallon tank for about 2 months. I did not do a whole lot to the temp tank other than top off and feed so I am sure nitrates where through the roof although I never tested. But there where only 3 mushrooms two months ago and they where tiny! Now they are covering this rock! I have them contained them in a cup for the time and really love they way they look if they stay in the cup lol

A few years ago some mushrooms were considered invasive as they can spread and cover multiple rocks.
But lately mushrooms are the hot new thing and it seems no matter which ones the price is much higher than it used to be.
I've always liked them. The more the merrier.
I don't think mushrooms and the word invasive should be used in the same sentence anymore. lol

If conditions allow, they will spread like wild fire IMO

Yes! I have three types of mushrooms.

Green striped which I've had since 2000, thought I lost them to a cooked tank in 2002. They tend to bud...the "cap" buds off and rolls around to attach elsewhere while the base remains to regrow.

Red, they don't seem to bud like the greens, mostly just creep along and reattach and grow new heads. I though these disappeared when I first put them in the tank, nope they took hold.

Green bumpy, they never really took off. I still have one tiny one on the rock they came on but the green striped seem to take over.
