Gosh, just when I restart in the hobby but thee might be some more hope; although not a quick fix, found this article tonigt in my reading up on things.

@HunterW, I am curious to see how the corals would end up getting onto the actual reef, instead of washing ashore and dying, as the pumice won't sink, and I don't think enough pieces would collide with coral heads and be wedged in tight enough to not be washed away with the next storm. I see numerous problems with that contributing significantly to the Great Barrier Reef's health, but who knows? It might just help :).

Thanks,

Double post, my bad.

I agree.

To be honest, I've been loosing interest with the lack of new corals coming into lfs's. Mine has had the same stuff for months. They even started selling coral frags from their display tanks. Most colonies are pretty much decimated now. There's not much to choose from.
My lfs doest have a dt to pull from

Mine won't for long at the rate they're pulling stuff out of there. Perhaps they're going to take it down. I'll have to ask next time I'm in there.

I did find a new lfs over the weekend though:) Good selection and the owner seems pretty decent as well. Prices were ok and the health of fish looked really good to me.

Well your IL where is carpentersville located

I was in my LFS looking at a Toadstool they had for $30, but I’ve never had one, so I while asking the guy about it, he was telling me how they were worried about the future of the hobby, and how the bans would effect them.

I didn’t buy the Toadstool, and it’s still there..... only now it’s listed as a “Larry’s Aquatics Radioactive Kryptonite Tipped Super NES Princess Toadstool” for $400

I never did ask the guy his plan to weather these difficult storms........

I found it by chi town.

If a lfs isn't culturing their own coral they are severally behind the 8 ball.

I started in 2014 and I can tell selection down all over the place and prices are up.

I don't know. It might be the hobbyists that save the world's coral reefs from chemical destruction.
I agree. Saving the ocean takes world wide effort but keeping corals in a tank takes individual responsibilities which is much easier having all the countries to agree.
