I just got the sign off from the wife to purchase a new Waterbox 70.2 for our apartment. My only other tank (a 40 breeder) is in my office, and she hates that I’m always spending time there (especially in the COVID era).

I plan to transfer over some of the sand/live rock from the office tank, but, realistically what’s the best guess as to when we can start adding some coral to the new tank? The plan is for it to be an LPS dominant tank, primarily Euphyllia and Scolys.

Rest assured that I plan to do all the proper testing to ensure it’s fully cycled. I was just looking for a ballpark estimate from anyone with experience adding a second tank.

Well, I've added live rock/coral(some not a lot) from a well established tank to a new one the day after adding water to it with no problems and to this day everything is still alive and growing.
