How long before Dino's are considered beneficial?

Yes, weird question, and one that I already know the answer to (never) Reason I asked is because of the video that was posted few days ago where surfer in San Clemente is surfing on bioluminescent waves created by dinoflagellates. Seeing how they produce "blue" light, and everyone wants all the blue light they can get, it will be only a matter of time before people try to somehow use them for adding supplemental light lol

 
I raise bioluminescent dinos and they do make some bright light for being so small. I have seen several ideas to use bioluminescent light as an actual light source but I think that many of those ideas are far from reality at this point. With genetic modifications this might one day be possible. Even speaking to a leading scientist in the field of bioluminescence they were skeptical of it being harnessed as an actual light source in part due to the energy and resources needed to raise these organisms. It is a cool video though.
