How long before Hyposalinity takes effect?

I've been battling ich for some time and i got the salinity down to 1.010 after moving it slowly down over the course of a couple of days. I also noticed my "ich detector" powder blue gain more spots in the process. How long before the Hypo starts killing the ich?

I plan on hitting 1.009 tonight but I also don't want to wake up tomorrow with my powder blue gone...

Hypo only targets the free swimming stage of ich, protecting your fish from reinfection.

After you hit 1.009, begin a 7 day countdown. If you are still seeing ich on your fish after that then that means you have encountered a hypo resistant strain.

I'm curious how this plays out. I've only done hypo once, very soon after starting in the hobby. Looking back on it the fish probably never even had crypto. But they certainly didn't have it when I was done. Maintaining pH was tricky.
