Hello,

Recently I added three Lyretail Anthias to my aquarium and it seems to have changed the power dynamic and made my white tail tang much more aggressive.

I woke up this morning to see my Starcki Damsel looking kind of beat up and was laying upside down.

I have one of these laying around: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/heavy-duty-specimen-container-large-lee-s-aquarium-products.html that I transferred him into anf hung inside the tank to stop further bullying. How long can I keep him in here to try to keep him alive?

Thanks

Probably a fairly long time.

Have you thought about putting some holes in it (and sanding to make smooth) and putting it in the tank? Would probably be able to live a long time in there and also let the other fish see and it see them.

If it was slotted and hanging in the tank, for a little while. That doesn't seem to have holes for flow/oxygen for breathing.

Drill holes into it and it can work for awhile.

It has no holes in it. I just noticed this issue, and given how he looks, I am not particularly optimistic about his chances of survival.

Still it would be nice to try to save him.

Given it has no holes for water flow, how long could he survive? Should I periodically replace the water?

You’ll want to give him an air stone or he’ll suffocate, and you’ll want to replace the water once or twice a day and right after feeding.

this will just be more stressful to a fish that probably wont handle it well, best to drill holes like others said

I do have an airstone I can add. I'll try that, and if his condition improves I'll drill holes for a longer term recovery.

Still, out of curiosity, how long would the oxygen supply in something like that last?

Thanks for the feedback.
