So I'm going to MACNA this year and staying for the whole 3 days which will be 2 nights and it starts on Friday and ends Sunday. It is in San Diego but I live in Los Angeles. I'll be staying in a hotel nearby.
I'll have a cooler with me for the corals.

What I'm trying to ask is how long can they be without being in an actual tank and light?

I'll try to keep it as close to room temp as possible over 2 days.

Vendors will hold your corals until Sunday. And MACNA is awesome!!

All my corals could do a week in portable conditions given temp and circulation constants and likely longer given decent water changes, two weeks I bet.

How are they going to remember me? sorry if I'm asking "noob" questions. It's my first time going to MACNA since it's finally in California.
The vendors move your frags to the side and will number/put your name on it. Some give you a receipt, etc. My best advice is to grab their business card and write down what you bought. You can easily forget, especially if this is your first! Then collect your stash on Sunday. Some folks supposedly set up a small tank in their room, but that's just too much work & risk.

Okay thanks. Do all vendors do this at MACNA?

Yea, some will number/name via a frag plug, poker chip, or one of those fat zip ties that you see on maricultured sps. Most of them do the big shows that are multiple days so they're used to it.

Thanks a lot. Now when I go I just have to remember which vendors I bought from
