Hey, I am about 3 hours away from home on vacation and there are a few aquarium stores in the area. The stores are a lot bigger than my LFS and I was hoping to get some nicer corals. How long could the corals live in the bag? Thanks :)

3 hour ride home, you'll be fine. Don't forget - some of these corals travel half way around the world.

I brought home a whole cooler full of frags from Destin this summer. Bought them late afternoon and got home the next day about 8am. Just stuck them in a cooler. SPS, LPS and zoas. Think about it, when you buy online they are overnighted so that's at least 18hrs. I also just bought a reverse superman monti last weekend and stuck it in a cooler and it was like 28 hours before we got home, opened up as soon as it was in the tank and is doing great.

K, thanks. I am leaving tomorrow afternoon so I might pick some up in the morning

How long do you think feather dusters could live in the shipping bag?

Inverts, corals and fish will all be fine for a 3 hour drive. As long as you don't subject them to extreme weather and they package them properly they will be fine. The only trouble I've ever had was when I bought 3 fish 3 hours away from home and they put them all in the same bag when I asked them not to. Nothing died but my tang was severely stressed out

I pack frags at 7am in the morning, bring to my office, people pick up through out the day, and take them home in the evenings.
No issues. Same with feather dusters, fish, etc.
Remember, coral get shipped 1-2 day all the time.

Longest I've done was 40 hours and a trip across the globe and they all made it. It's important to keep temperature stable.

Did you happen to buy them from salty aquatics ? I need starter coral. I’m a newbie to reefing. Do you recommend anything?
